What Journey does well
Runs almost everywhere: iOS, Android, Mac, Windows, Linux, ChromeOS, and the web, with cloud sync across all of them on Membership. Long-lived product with a one-time Premium license option for people who dislike subscriptions. Rich entry metadata: mood and feelings, activities, tags, weather, location on a map (Atlas), templates, and 60+ coach programs.
Where Lound differs
Voice is keyboard dictation or an audio attachment rather than the primary flow, and audio notes are not documented as transcribed, so a spoken entry does not become searchable text. Odyssey AI answers questions you ask; it does not automatically summarize each entry, infer a mood, or surface patterns unprompted. Lound starts from the recording: the structure arrives after the thought is out, and the app remembers what you said so it can hand it back when it matters.
How to choose
If your journal is a text diary that lives on every device you own, with moods, maps, and programs you fill in yourself, Journey is excellent at it. If you think by talking and want an app that listens, structures what you said, and remembers it for you, Lound is the one built for that.
